Answer to a qustion: "What is Butoh" has as many answers as there are butoh dancers. 

Best answer I've come across with has been from Pasi Mäkelä with who I worked 2007 with in a performance "Sabotanic Garden".

Pasi noted: "Butoh is a potato but a dance. This performance is one attempt to investigate this enigma.

Kysymykseen siitä mitä buto on on yhtä monta vastausta kuin on butoartisteja.

Butoh on kuin peruna mutta tanssi. Tämä teos on ensimmäinen yritys enigman kehollistamiseen.
